Why We Think It's So Special...
Tucked away on a sun-drenched hillside, behind a gentle row of olive trees, lies our glistening deep-blue pool – an inviting oasis shimmering in the Andalusian light. Emerge from an early morning swim and take in the breathtaking panorama: to the north, the storied pueblo blanco of Frigiliana rises like a vision from the past, its whitewashed walls steeped in Moorish history; to the east, the majestic Sierra Almijara mountains unfold, reaching toward the snow-dusted peaks of the Sierra Nevada. And just beyond, to the southeast, the sparkling curve of Nerja’s bay beckons – glinting in the distance like a promise of adventure and tranquillity combined.
Sit back and turn the pages of your favourite travel novel under the parasol, what the Spanish call sombrilla, made of dry-grass like ‘esparto’. A coffee by the pool in the mornings, and a chilled glass of local wine in the evenings, this perfect tranquility is disturbed only by the tweeting birds and the gentle buzz of the cicadas.
Outside Al Ladino with its white washed walls and natural stone walls there’s the scent of wild herbs lingering in the air and the nighttime perfume of honeysuckle and ‘dama de noche’ (lady of the night), it’s as if you’re gazing back into time, smells and sights transporting you. You will return home refreshed and rejuvinated, looking forward to your next visit with us.
